Tom began his successful photographic career in 1965. His library of over 40,000 35mm images (recently acquired by the Save Our Seas Foundation) is managed out of our Santa Barbara office. Often along with magazine articles he wrote, Tom’s images have appeared worldwide in publications such as National Geographic, National Wildlife, Audubon, and various dive & travel magazines. His award-winning photography continues to be featured in books, calendars, and other publications worldwide.

| 1975-1985: California Highway Patrol. Responsible for the documentation of major chemical spills, multiple fatality collisions and accident investigation photography. CHP photo instructor for statewide public affairs officers in Sacramento. |
| 1983: David Weiss Productions San Diego, California. Still photographer for Howard Hall’s documentary Incidental Kill focusing on species that become incidental kill in the use of driftnets, such as pinnipeds and other pelagic marine animals. |
